The Mike Hazen Memorial Trophy

Rules and Qualifications

Each year it is the privilege and an honor for the Ogdensburg Minor Hockey Association to hand out the Mike Hazen Memorial Trophy to an Ogdensburg Bantam player. The recipient keeps the trophy for one year and is asked to come back the following year and hand it to the next winner. These are the criteria:

1. The recipient of this award must be a 2^nd year Bantam.

2. He or she must be a registered player of the OMHA Bantam team.

3. The OMHA puts a committee together along with the Bantam coach and his assistants to pick the recipient.

4. The recipient should possess the same qualities displayed by Mike Hazen. The player should exemplify sportsmanship, dedication, leadership, fair play, and a good work ethic in practice and games. He or she should also love the game of hockey and be a team player.

How many games will they play? What days of the week?

Example: Teams will play 20-30 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on the weekends.

Are jerseys provided or are they purchased separately?

Example: Club jerseys are required and may be purchased at TJ Sporting Goods.

What costs beyond registration fees should be expected?

Example: Expect team managers to collect funds to cover tournament entry fees.
